Mixed GMsFEM for linear poroelasticity problems in heterogeneous porous media

Accurate numerical simulations of interaction between fluid and solid play an important role in applications. The task is challenging practical scenarios as the media are usually highly heterogeneous with very large contrast. To overcome this computational challenge, various multiscale methods developed. In paper, we consider a class linear poroelasticity problems high contrast porous media, develop mixed generalized finite element method (GMsFEM) to obtain fast method. Our aim that robust respect heterogeneities gives mass conservative velocity field. We will construct decoupled basis functions for elastic displacement well velocity. local. construction based on some suitable choices local snapshot spaces spectral decomposition, goal extracting dominant modes solutions. For pressure, use piecewise constant approximation. present several examples illustrate performance our results indicate proposed able give accurate solutions small degree freedoms.
